Build a power-push budget with protected reserves

A target is useful when you know what you can spend, what you need to keep and which balance will run out first. This example turns those decisions into a preparation plan.

1. Start with a complete, dated inventory

Open the power planner and enter or review your resource and speedup balances. Name the account and goal so that a saved plan remains recognisable later. Confirm the figures against the game before relying on the result.

For this fictional example, choose fresh T5 infantry only, a 1,000,000 power target and a 100% training bonus. This strategy does not need an existing troop count. It assumes your account can already train T5 infantry.

Try the fictional example without entering game data. First use Download backup in the planner to keep your own device plan. Download the example below, choose Open backup, then review it. The example replaces the device plan only after you choose Use this backup. It does not save over an online plan automatically.

The sample is labelled “Fictional guide account” and has no deadline or confirmed inventory. Keep it separate from your real account; restore your own backup when finished.

Enter these amounts to reproduce the example. M means million.

Gold50M20M30M

Universal speedups30d10d20d

Set building, research and healing speedups to zero for this example. In your own account, retain their actual balances; those categories do not fund the training calculation. A blank balance means it still needs checking, whereas zero means you verified that none is available.

2. Separate ownership from permission to spend

A protected reserve stays in your inventory. It only reduces what this plan may use. Here the planner has 80M food, 70M wood, 30M gold and 60 days of eligible speedups available after protection.

Spendable resource = max(0, owned − protected)
Spendable training time = training speedups + max(0, universal − protected universal)

Protect universal speedups if you want to retain flexible time for another use, such as healing. Dedicated training speedups cannot satisfy that universal reserve. The reserve is your own budget choice; the calculator does not decide how much healing stock your account should keep.

If you own 10M gold but protect 12M, no gold is spendable and the reserve itself is 2M short. A target requiring another 4M gold would therefore need 6M additional gold: 2M to complete the reserve and 4M to fund the target.

3. Price the whole target

The current model assigns 10 power to each fresh T5 troop. A one-million-power target therefore requires 100,000 fresh troops. For infantry, the default cost per troop is 800 food, 800 wood and 400 gold, with 120 seconds of base training time.

Troops needed = 1,000,000 ÷ 10 = 100,000
Time per troop = 120 seconds ÷ (1 + 100 ÷ 100) = 60 seconds

The target costs 80M food, 80M wood and 40M gold. Its training time is 100,000 minutes, or 69 days, 10 hours and 40 minutes. A 100% training bonus halves the baseline time; it does not make the training instant or halve resource costs.

Troops are whole units. If a requested gain does not divide evenly by the per-troop gain, the target calculation rounds up to enough troops to reach it. For example, a fresh-training target of 11 power requires two troops and produces 20 power under this model.

4. Distinguish the affordable result from the target

With 30M spendable gold, this account can fund 75,000 fresh infantry, giving 750,000 power. Gold limits the current result. That does not mean gold is the only balance that needs attention before the full target becomes affordable.

Compare each target cost with its spendable balance.

Wood80M70M10M
Gold40M30M10M
Eligible speedups69d 10h 40m60d9d 10h 40m

Adding only 10M gold still leaves a wood and speedup shortage. Read all the target gaps before deciding which supplies to acquire. The overall resource total cannot substitute food for missing wood or gold.

A funded goal covers the target and the reserves. If protected universal time is itself missing, that gap specifically needs universal speedups. Extra training speedups can cover training time, but they cannot fill the protected universal balance.

5. Use the deadline as a saving pace

If there are ten UTC calendar days remaining, this example needs an average of 1M wood, 1M gold and 1,360 eligible speedup minutes per day. The time amount is 22 hours and 40 minutes of speedup-item duration per day.

The daily figures divide each remaining shortfall by days left and round up. They show the pace required to close the gap; they do not predict what you will earn. A deadline adds no resources or natural training time to the budget. On the due date or after it, use the remaining total directly instead of interpreting a daily pace.

After acquiring or spending supplies, update the actual inventory and run the plan again. A saved goal does not monitor the game. If you compare two event ideas using the same inventory, they are alternative scenarios until you allocate the supplies between them.

What changes when you include upgrades?

Existing troops already contribute power. In this model, a T4-to-T5 upgrade adds 6 power, while a fresh T5 adds 10. Upgrading 100,000 T4 therefore adds 600,000 power. Counting the full T5 value would overstate the gain by 400,000.

When all supported source tiers are selected, the planner considers T4, then T3, then T2. Within each tier it follows your troop priority. In the balanced strategy, it spends the remainder on fresh T5 of your chosen type. All steps draw from the same resource and speedup budget.

Review the source-tier counts for every enabled troop type. Unknown counts cannot support a confirmed upgrade plan. In upgrade-only mode, a shortage of eligible troops is a separate obstacle: more resources cannot create the missing upgrade stock. Change the strategy or verify the inventory before treating the target as reachable.

Method, assumptions and practical checks

The arithmetic above was checked against RoK Vault’s power, reserve and target calculations on 25 October 2026. The rates are the calculator’s default assumptions, not an official statement of game costs. Inspect the full table under Calculation assumptions in the planner and compare it with your current training screen and active bonus.

The model assumes T5 access, spends training and universal speedups, and gives no credit for future income or natural training. Its priority order is a planning method; it does not search every possible troop mix for a global maximum. Event points, rewards and leaderboard placement require the rules of the active event and are separate from estimated power.
